James "Allen" Carter, age 60, of Alton, IN passed away on May 29, 2017 at the Robley Rex VAMC, Louisville, KY.
Allen was born to the late Wm. Gaylord Carter and the late Helen (Roll) Carter on March 2, 1957 in Corydon, IN.
Surviving Allen are his sons Joe Carter of Paoli, and Jimmy Carter of West Fork, grandchildren Parker and Marcianna Carter of Paoli, three step-grandchildren Alex Carnes of Paoli, Wes Carnes of Paoli, Keagan Strange of Paoli and Ian Strange of Paoli, along with three step great grandchildren, siblings Antony Carter of Orleans and Barbara Calhoun of English, step siblings Robert McCoy Jr. of Huntingburg, Ronnie McCoy of New Salisbury and Dottie Tittle of Daytona Beach, FL.
Allen was a Veteran of the US Army, with a member of the American Legion Post 133 of Alton, IN. He worked Mulzer's Quarry and a Heavy Machine Mechanic for 26 years.
Funeral Service will be Friday, June 2, 2017 at 11:00 am at Denbo Funeral Home, English, IN. Visitation will be Thursday, June 1, 2017 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
