Barbara Kay (Bayer) Gehl, 70, of Orleans, IN passed away on May 7, 2021 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on March 18, 1951 to Albert Bayer and AnMae (McKim) Snider in Taswell, IN.

Barbara's world was her grandchildren, she was such a loving and caring soul, everyone loved her smile.  Her favorite place to go was the beach.  Barbara stated work as a cook at Head Start program of Southern Indiana and worked her way up until she became a social worker advocate for children and their families.

She is preceded in death by her first husband Herman Gehl I, husband Alan Madden, her parents, a son Jeremy Gehl, grandchildren T.J. Leon and Addison and her sister Kathy Wilson.

Barbara is survived by her children; Herman Gehl II of Orleans, IN, Josh (Tressyn) Gehl of Campbellsburg, IN, Joe (Bethany) Gehl, of Paoli, IN, Cassidy (Jarod) Pridemore of Orleans, IN, and Tracie Gehl of Orleans, IN, 19 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, siblings; Harold (Becky) Bayer, of Birdseye, IN, Bill (Debbie) Snider, of Waynesville, NC and Janet (Keith) Berger, of Jasper, IN, along with her step-children Tina Madden, Darla Steel and Kathy Rogers.

Funeral Service will Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at Denbo Funeral Home at 1:00 pm.

Visitation will be Monday, May 17, 2021 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Denbo Funeral Home in English, IN, and on Tuesday from 9:00 am until service time of 1:00 pm.
