Betty Sue Young, 81, passed away on December 7, 2021 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, IN.

She was born on July 2, 1940 to George Bruce and Martha (Whelan) Smith in Oakland City, IN.

Betty never met a stranger, always had a smile on her face and was a very kind and gentle soul.  She enjoyed traveling, camping, quilting and cross stitch.  Betty loved playing Bunco.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her 2 sons Steven and Ricky Young and her siblings Donnie, Joan, Michael and Garland.

Betty is survived by her husband Vernon Young, her children; Vickie (Steve) Meyer, Vernon Young Jr. and Michael (Amy) Young, along with 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren and siblings; George Jr., Richard, Gloria, Kevin, Becky, Carol and Yvonne.

Cremation was chosen per Betty wishes.
