James "Bill" Hammond, 88 of English, IN passed away at his home on September 27, 2020 surrounded by his family.

He was born on March 5, 1932 to Micheal and Geneva Hammond in Clarksville, IN.

Bill was an avid card player and loved playing Euchre at the English VFW.  He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, farming and gardening.  Bill was a Navy Veteran and a Lifetime member of the English VFW 6160 and a Member of the Masons.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings; Leroy Hammond, John Hammond, Mike Hammond and Thelma Case.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Evelyn (Belcher) Hammond, his daughters; Susan (Jr.) Wilkerson and Lisa (Bobby) Hayes, grandchildren; Kerry (Amy) Jellison and Taylor Agee, great-grandchildren; Jordan and Zach Jellison, great-great-grandchildren Landon and Layla Jellison, and his siblings; Melba (Emery) Norman, Delores Nourse, Ray (Phyllis) Hammond and Charlie Hammond.

Funeral service will be held on Thrusday, October 1, 2020 at 1:00 pm at Denbo Funeral Home, with visitation starting at 11:00 am.  Bro. John Bye will be officiating the funeral service with burial following at Mifflin Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at Denbo Funeral Home from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
