Obituary

Dale Chappell, age 57, of English, IN passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2024, at Jasper Memorial Hospital in Jasper, IN.

Dale was born on April 14, 1966, in Huntingburg, IN to the late James E. Chappell and Millie E. (Conrad) Chappell.

Dale was disable since birth, he loved to take Sunday rides with his dad and brothers to look at vehicles.  He loved to play his CD player and sing along at times, when would take his CD player to church and perform a special song for the congregation.  If you ask him who his favorite singer was, he would say it was George Strait, but most of the time it was George Jones that he would sing along with.  Dale graduated from Paoli School Corporation in the special education program, and he had a special classmate, Gayle Woolston, his family says now that Dale and Gayle are flying high now.  He loved to get on the John Deere and ride it up and down the county road and enjoyed playing with his remote-control cars.  Dale attended Tunnel Hill Free Methodist Church with his family.  He had a love of his pets, his dogs were Tigger, Bernie and Bruiser, along with his cat Miss Molly.  Dale wouldn't go anywhere without his watch, wallet and his cell phone, and he always had his flashlight at night and Karen would wake up and have it shining in her eyes.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother Marvin E. Chappell.

Dale is survived by his brother James Eugene Chappell of English, IN, two sisters Karen (Tim) Deich of Taswell, IN, and Mary Harder of Birdseye, IN, two nephews James Earl Joseph Chappell and Daniel Tyler Harder of Birdseye, IN and his niece Samantha Rachelle Eisele of Birdseye, IN.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, March 29, 2024, at 11:00 am at Tunnel Hill Free Methodist Church in English, IN.

Visitation will be on Thursday, March 28, 2024, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Denbo Funeral Home and on Friday, March 29 from 9:00 am until service time of 11:00 am at Tunnel Hill Free Methodist Church.

Officiating the funeral service will be Bro. Doug Byrum with burial to follow at Bethany Union Cemetery in Eckerty, IN.
