Donald Kraft Seeley, age 86, passed away on March 1, 2024, at Jasper Memorial Hospital in Jasper, IN.
He was born on October 29, 1937, to Cecil Reynolds Seeley and Edna Mae Kraft in Sterling, Ill.
Don served in the Army for the year of 1956 to 1958. Returning home in Sterling, Ill, he worked several years at the Illinois Forge in Rock Falls, then moving onto the Dekalb Forge where he served as Vice President for several more years. After retiring from the Forge, he went onto fulfilling a lifelong dream of owning his own bagel shop-The Big Apple Bagels in Rockford, Ill. After selling out his Bagel stores, he went back to the DeKalb Forge to help the new owners before retiring completely. In his later years, Don loved playing golf and he and Tawanna enjoyed hunting Geodes throughout the US and selling them at various craft shows. He spent his last years building a new home in Southern Indiana and enjoying the nature surrounding it.
Don is preceded in death by his parents Edna Mae Kraft and Cecil Reynolds Seeley, his brother C. Raymond "Buzz" Seeley, his sister Donna (Vern) Baker, brother-in-law Von Blackburn and sister-in-law Nancy Seeley.
Surviving Don is his wife of 19 years Tawanna, his daughters Dona (Lowell) Ward and Dyan (Michael) Kramer, stepchildren Amiee Bower and Matthew Moore, and his granddaughters Alyx and Michaela Ward, Ella and Clare Kramer and Myranda and Sydney Wienkers, sisters Jackie Blackburn, Sandi (Jim) Arduini, Jerry (Bonnie) Sternes, brother-in-law Jeff (Tina) Frohbieter and many numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at 1:00 pm (slow time), 2:00 pm (fast time) at Clark Cemetery, County Road 500 West, Owensville, IN 47665. Bro. Mike Beaty will officiate the funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heart-to-Heart Hospice of Jasper, IN.
