Donnie Gene King, 71, of English, passed Tuesday July 21, 2020 away at the Kindred at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky surrounded by his family.
He was born on June 25, 1949 in Birdseye, Indiana to Amos and June (Bufford) King.
Donnie retired after 46 years from Mulzer Crushed Stone as a supervisor, and heavy equipment operator. He was an E.M.T for over 30 years. Donnie was very outgoing, and known to have his hand in a little of everything. He was long time city town council member, Civic Leader, member of the English Fire Department, Indiana Volunteer Fireman's Association, Former Town Marshall, member of the Masonic Lodge 417 in English, Indiana, faithful to the English Wesleyan Church, volunteered with the food pantry. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and working outside but most of all he loved spending time with his grandkids.
Preceded in death by his parents; Amos and June King, a brother Edward King.
Survived by loving wife of 53 years, Martha (Newkirk) King, his children; Mark (Laura) King, Debra (Kyle) Wiseman, his Grandchildren; Donnie Patton, Tabitha Lori, Dustin Patton, Tyler Wiseman, Tasha Wiseman, Tiffany Gideon, Lane King, Dalton King, and his Great- Grandchildren; Hayden, Lainey, Cecily, Kaydence, Lily, Jolin, Ryder, Gunner, Paisley, his sister, Betty Eckert, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday July 26, 2020 at 1:00 P.M at Denbo Funeral Home in English, Indiana with Bro. Roger Dillman and Bro. Ryan Dillman to officiate. Burial will follow in Mathers Cemetery, in English, Indiana.
Friends may visit Saturday July 25, 2020 at 4:00 P.M until 8:00 P.M at the Denbo Funeral Home in English, Indiana.
In lieu of flowers donation can be made to English Wesleyan Church in Donnie's memory.
