Obituary

Edith Marie (Sturgeon) Eastridge, 94, was a life long resident of English, IN.  Our beloved Mother passed away on August 4, 2021, two days before her 95 th birthday.

She was born August 6, 1926, the youngest daughter of William E. and Stella (McDaniel) Sturgeon.  She grew up on Bogard with five brothers and four sisters.  She is the longest living and last surviving sibling of her family.

Edith married Aven Eastridge on January 17, 1943, to this union seven children were born.

She worked at the Indiana Army Ammunitions Plant in Charlestown, IN during the wars.  Her last employment was at Brittany Furniture before she retired.  Edith was a member of The Jericho Church and attended Bogard Church also.

Edith was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 49 years Aven Eastridge, five brothers and 4 sisters, son Wendell Eastridge, daughter Dana Sue Long, granddaughter Donna Sue Long, grandson Eddie Eastridge and great granddaughter Ellisyn Goodson, along with three Son-in-Laws; Donald Long Sr., Larry Walton and Mike Hall.

Surviving Edith are her children; Larry (Betty) Eastridge, Jerry (Jan) Eastridge, Linda Smith of Indianapolis, IN, Lola (Tim) Goodson of New Salisbury, IN, and Janet (Kim) Chastain of Paoli, seven grandsons; Michael Eastridge of Marengo, IN, Jimmy Eastridge of Paoli, IN, Donald Long Jr. of Paoli, IN, Joe Eastridge of Chicago, Ill, Rob Walton of Hawesville, KY, Indy Goodson of New Salisbury, IN and Chevy Goodson of Corydon, IN, fourteen granddaughters; Robin Philpot of Palmyra, IN, Camrie Goodson of Franklin, IN, Lola Gayle Kearby of French Lick, IN, Julie Eastridge of Salem, IN, Pixie Flannery of Orleans, IN, Jennifer Eastridge of English, IN, Tina Qualkenbush of French Lick, IN, Sherry Grimes of Paoli, IN, Lisa Livingston of New Albany, IN, Monica Eastridge Presley of Marengo, IN, Jessica Arnold of Fair Born, OH, Valerie Smelser of Marengo, IN Brandy Hall of Indianapolis, IN and Kristy Stephens of Cloverport, KY, along with several great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and great-great-great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Denbo Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10:00 am on Saturday.

Officiating the funeral service will be Rev. John Bye with a burial to follow at Highfill Cemetery in Taswell, IN
