Elby Ray Long, age 82, of Taswell, IN passed away at his home on July 29, 2015.
Elby Ray was born to the late James and Cecil (Bold) Long on August 24, 1932 in Adair, Ky.
He was survived by his wife, Betty (Dearborn) Long, they were married on August 10, 1974.
Elby Ray had 10 children; Billy Long (dec.), Phyllis Grant, Jeanette Applegate, Donald (Stacy) Long, Becky (Harold) Bayer, Lois (Bert) Selby, Vicky (Martin) Mitchell, Debbie (Doug) Wessel, Dale (Stephanie) Jenkins and Tammy Jenkins (dec.).
His siblings are Earl Long (dec.), Felix Long (dec.), Everett Long, Morgan Long, Lucille Young , Catherine Thomson, Elaine Clark, and Alma Lou Green.
He had several grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Elby Ray served 21 years in the U.S. Army, he also fought in the Korean War and Vietnam War. He is a member the English VFW Post 6160.
He worked at GE in Louisville, KY, retired from Hooks Drugs and CVS and also worked at Jasper Rubber.
Elby Ray was a member of the Highfill General Baptist Church in Taswell, IN.
Funeral Service will be Saturday, August 1, 2015 at 11:00 am at Denbo Funeral Home in English, IN
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm till 8:00 pm and from 9:00 am until service time at 11:00 am at Denbo Funeral Home in English, IN.
