Emma Kathryn Chanley, age 92 of Leavenworth, IN passed away on September 11, 2015 at the Harrison County Hospital in Corydon, IN.
She was born to the late Elsie and Mae (Cummings) Brown. Emma was born on June 25, 1923 in Cape Sandy, IN.
Emma was married to Carl Chanley on January 1, 1942.
Their children are David Chanley, Gloria (Ronald) Cole, Roger (Esther) Chanley, Sr. (deceased), Karen (Jim) Tower, and Kathy (Bert) Collins.
She is preceded in death by her parents Elsie and Mae Brown, her husband Carl Chanley, brother Elbert Brown and sister Elsie Chanley.
Emma has 12 grandchildren, preceded Emma in death was granddaughter Wendi Cole, 13 great grandchildren, preceded Emma in death was great granddaughter Ashley Smith, and 4 great great grandchildren.
She was a member of Crawford Consolidated United Methodist Church in Leavenworth, IN.
Emma was active in the Filson Historical Society, the Crawford County Historical and Genealogy Society, she was a 4-H leader, and was a member of the Friendly Neighbors Homemaker Club in Cape Sandy.
She was a graduated of the Leavenworth High School.
Funeral will be Monday, September 14, 2015 at 12:00 noon at Dillman-Green Funeral IN Marengo, IN. Minister will be Randy Coleman.
Visitation will be Monday, September 14 from 10:00 am to service time at 12:00 noon.
Burial will follow at the Fredonia Cemetery, in Leavenworth, IN.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Fredonia Cemetery Fund.
