Lake Placid - Ermel Suddarth was born in Taswell, Indiana to Joseph and Della (Case) Suddarth on May 4, 1928, and passed away December 15, 2023, in Sebring, Florida. He served as a pipe fitter in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Later, he worked as a pipe fitter at the Ford plant in Sharonville, Ohio, retiring in 1986. Ermel married Janet Lewis in 1949, and they were married for 59 1/2 years. Ermel was preceded in death by Janet, his parents, four brothers, and three sisters. Ermel is survived by his sons: Joseph (Laura) and Daniel (Marti) of Evansville, IN, and seven grandchildren: Kate (Mike Perron), Scott, Abigail, Andrew, Timothy, Sarah, and Hannah, and three great-grandchildren.

Ermel was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Lake Placid, Florida. He was loved by his family, his neighbors, and friends at church. He enjoyed working Cryptoquotes and playing Euchre. He had a quick wit and vibrant sense of humor.

Funeral service will be on Friday, December 22, 2023, at 1:30 at Highfill Chapel Church in Taswell, IN.

Visitation will be on Friday, December 22, 2023, from 11:00 am until time at 1:00 pm at Highfill Chapel Church.

Officiating the funeral service will be Rev. Dr. Jack Eberhardt with burial to follow at Highfill Cemetery.
