Gary Johnston, 71, of English, IN passed away at his home on March 8, 2022.

He was born to George W. Johnston and Florence (Clifford) Johnston on May 24, 1950 in New Haven, Illinois.

Gary is preceded by his parents, and siblings Raymond Johnston and Patricia Robinson.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Joanie (Redden) Johnston, and his sons; George W. Johnston II, Ernest D. Johnston, and Cory Eugene Johnston and many nieces and nephews.

Gary was a veteran of the Vietnam War where he served two years, he was in the 173 Airborne, were he drove the Fuel Tankers to the active line.  He is a member of the Tick Ridge Church. Gary enjoyed playing music with his guitar and singing at Schwartz Restaurant on Thursday evenings. He also enjoyed woodworking.

Funeral service will be Monday, March 14, 2022 at 12:00 pm (EST) Denbo Funeral Home in English, IN.

Visitation will be on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at Denbo Funeral Home from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm (EST)and on Monday from 9:00 until service time of 12:00 pm (EST).
