Gilbert Denton, age 76, of English, IN passed away on July 24, 2019 at The Timbers in Jasper, IN.

Gil was born on June 25, 1943 to Gilbert M. Denton and Dana E. (Newkirk) Denton in Milltown, IN.

He was a member of the Christian faith and was the author of 5 books, he wrote pieces of music and songs and was a painter.

Gil is preceded in death by his parents Gilbert and Dana (Newkirk) Denton and his siblings; Glenn Denton, Ellsworth Denton, Helen Cook and Wilma Bungar.

He is survived by his children Tina (Mike) Benham of English, IN and Mickey (Julia) Denton of Summerfield, NC and Travis (Lydia) Sayles of Umpqua, Oregon, along grandchildren; Jessica (Craig) Starr, Jacob Perry, Aubrey  and Holley Denton, great-grandchildren Ellison Starr and McCoy Sayles, along with siblings; Hazel Denton and Paul Denton.

The family's wishes are to have a private funeral service.
