Nov 3, 1963 — Aug 5, 2025
English
Jean Marie "Cricket" Clutinger, 62, of English, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on August 5, 2025.
Cricket was born on November 3, 1963, in Long Beach, California, to Gene and Wanda Sturgeon.
On September 5, 1982, Cricket married the love of her life, Edward Clutinger. Together, they built a home centered around faith, love, laughter, and family. They raised four children and shared a life filled with joy, dedication, and unwavering support for one another.
Cricket spent most of her career as a devoted stay-at-home mother and later as a beloved preschool teacher at Little Hands Preschool. She was not only a wife, mother, and nana—she was the heart of her family. Her greatest purpose in life was loving and nurturing her children and grandchildren. She poured her heart into each of their lives, always reminding them of God's love and making sure they knew how deeply loved they were by her.
Cricket was a proud nana to 13 grandchildren, with one more on the way, and was soon to become a great-grandmother. Each grandchild believed they were "Nana's favorite"—a testament to the special bond she shared with every one of them. She never missed a sporting event, school performance, appointment, or birthday. She was the master of creating "just because" fun days that made lifelong memories.
Cricket had a contagious laugh, loved telling jokes, playing fantasy football, and cooking for her family. She found joy in bargain shopping, tending to her chickens, and Sunday afternoon naps with Ed. She was an active member of Doolittle Mills Church, where she gave her time to children's ministry, Vacation Bible School, and sharing her love for the Lord.
Cricket is survived by her husband, Ed Clutinger; her children: Jennifer (Ben) Breeden, Katie (Roman) Miller, Matthew (Chelsea) Clutinger, and Mark (Paulinna) Clutinger; 13 beloved grandchildren with one on the way; one soon-to-arrive great-grandchild; her siblings: Sonny (Rondi) Sturgeon and April (Kris) Kirby.
The family will hold a private visitation at Denbo Funeral Home. A public Celebration of Life will be announced and held at a later date at Doolittle Mills Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Denbo Funeral Home to help assist the family with medical and funeral expenses.
