Jessie Joann Goebel, age 80, passed away on May 10, 2023, at her home in Marengo, IN surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on August 12, 1942, to Jesse Edwards and Ruth Marie Walker Edwards in Ramsey, IN.

Joann was a member of Community Worship Chapel Church in Marengo, IN. She enjoyed puzzles, flower gardening and going to church. Joann was a loving, trusting and compassionate person. She will be missed by her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, first husband James W. Allen, son Stephen Leroy Allen, siblings; Sonnie Edwards, Sharron Pease and Carlotta Atwood, stepchild Nathan Goebel.

Joann is survived by her loving husband Charles Goebel, her children; Angie Rose (Danny) Jones, Julie Anne Allen, Mary E. (Josh) Longest, James William Allen Jr., 15 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, siblings; Wade Edwards, David Edwards and Nettie Bell, step-children; Carrie (Kevin) Caskey, Joshua Goebel, 3 step-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at 1:00 pm at Dillman-Green Funeral Home in Marengo, IN.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 am and continue until service time of 1:00 pm.

Officiating the funeral service will be Bro. Toney McCutcheon with cremation to follow.
