Dr. John Eldon Merrilees, age 80, of English, IN passed away at his home on August 17, 2022.

He was born on August 11, 1942 Thomas Merriless and Pauline (Walls) Merrilees in Guntersville, Alabama.

John was an Army Veteran and retired from Dentistry after 44 years.  He served our community for many years.  John was an avid fisherman and hunter; he loved the outdoors. He also had his private Pilots License and really enjoyed flying.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

John is survived by his wife of 58 years Sonia (Roberts) Merrilees, his daughters; Dana (Jerry) Hendrix, and Lisa Merrilees and his sisters; Sharolette (Marvin) Coleman, Mary Lee (George) Stutzman and Patricia Wade.

Cremation was chosen per John's wishes.  A memorial service may be announced at a later date.
