Loraine Smith, age 98, of Sulphur, IN passed away on March 21, 2024, at Fish Memorial Hospital in Orange City, Florida with her daughter by her side.

She was born to Jesse Arthur Lutz and Aretha A. (Eaton) Lutz on November 17, 1925, in Sulphur, IN.

Lorraine was always a very outgoing, lovey person who loved all people and never met a stranger.  She was long-time member of the Sulphur Pentecostal Church where she never missed a Sunday.  Lorraine was unofficially known as the "Mayor of Sulphur".  She was a homemaker and an Avon Representative for 51 years, where she met and made many friends along the way.

Preceding Lorraine in death are her parents, her husband of 62 years Clifford M. Smith, an infant stillborn child, her son Dennis R. Smith, and her siblings; Bertha Sherron, Jim Lutz, Nelson Lutz and Semor Lutz.

Lorraine is survived by her daughter Judy Wellman, her grandchildren Brad Wellman and Lori (David) Denton, great-grandchildren Garrett, Austin and Eli Wellman, Ella and Carter Denton, daughter-in-law Sandra Smith, Sara Wellman and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at 11:00 am at Sulphur Pentecostal Church in Sulphur, IN.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Denbo Funeral Home, English, IN and on Thursday from 9:00 am until service time of 11:00 am.

Officiating the funeral service will be Bro. Randy Simmons with burial to follow at Riddle Cemetery.
