Maurice Gene Laswell, 85, of Eckerty, Indiana passed away on Saturday, November 29, 2025, in French Lick, Indiana.

He was born on August 22, 1940, in English, Indiana to Clee and Minnie (King) Laswell.

Maurice was a man who believed in hard work and the value of a good trade. He had a natural gift for fixing things and spent countless hours working on small appliances and vehicles. He was a United States Army Veteran.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Clee and Minnie Laswell.

Maurice is survived by his daughters, Cynthia (Kent) Gillespie, and Sue Laswell, his sister, Shirley Gramlin, nephew, Brian (Judy) Redden, niece, Michelle (Ryan) Grunden, grandchildren, Amanda (Marc) Johnson, Keegan (Abby) Gillespie, Andrew (Santana) Ross, Terry (Kayla) Ross. Great grandchildren, Judah, Micah, Zion, Adaih, Noah, Owen, Waylon, Kolten, Jaxon and Addilynn. One great-great grandson, Zaylon, and many other cousins and friends.

A Graveside Burial will be held on Tuesday December 2, 2025, at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.  with Bro. Barry Adams to officiate.
