Olive Lane, age 95, of the Tunnel Hill area of English, passed away on July 8, 2017 at Kindred Care – Indian Creek in Corydon, IN.
Olive was born to Henry Hammond and Lilly (Hammons) Hammond on September 30, 1921 in Mifflin, IN.
Preceding Olive in death was her husband of 64 years Howard Lane, a daughter Carol Lee Lane, a son Bobby Lane, brothers Clovis "Buck" Coen and Clarence Hammond and sisters Opal Nash and Jean Doan.
Surviving Olive are her children Opal Enlow of Corydon, and Jim (Lilly) Lane of Lanesville, along with 8 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Olive lived her life with a very strong Christian faith. She taught Sunday school for 70 yrs. She loved her many students and they loved her, she was a great influence to many lives. Not only will she be missed by her students, but her family as well. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother to her family. Olive was an avid button collector with a very large collection, she loved to read daily, she read the Bible though 16 times in her lifetime. Olive also loved taking old clothes and making them into Crazy Quilts with old clothing from her family. She will be greatly missed by all.
Funeral Service will be Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at 11:00 am at Denbo Funeral Home in English, IN.
Visitation will be Monday, July 10 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Tuesday from 9:00 until service time at 11:00 am.
Officiating the funeral service will be Bro. Doug Byrum of Tunnel Hill Christian Church. Burial will follow at the Mifflin Cemetery.
Olive's son Bobby pass away on June 27, the family will be having a Celebration of Life for Bobby along with Olive's funeral on Tuesday, July 11 at 11:00 am at Denbo Funeral Home
