Obituary

Omeda Combs­­- Beswick, 77, of Milltown passed away at her home on Saturday Aug.31.  She was born in Lamont, KY and lived out her life in Indiana.

She is survived by her husband Paul.  They married on Dec. 5, 1964 and celebrated 55 years of marriage. They had two children, Richard Beswick (Kimberly) and Paula Graef (Ryan) all of Milltown.

Preceding her in death are her parents Henry & Lottie Combs, brothers Oscar Combs, John "Ish" Combs, Emmett Combs, Kenneth Comb, as well as sisters Allene Murphy, Murlena Korroll, Pauline Combs, and Bonnie Borradaile.

Survivors include sisters Polly Hilgeman of Corydon, Patricia Free of Paoli, Judy Miller of Parker, CO., Sandra Wells of Marengo, and brother Gary Douglas Combs of Cambellsburg, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces & great nephews that she loved dearly. She had three special people that she loved as her own grandkids, Gabriel Colley, Jimi Slaughterback, & Alaric Kaiser.

After graduation from Milltown High School in 1960 she joined the military and was a member of the Womens Army Corp, stationed in Fort Leonard Wood, MO and was honorably discharged in 1962.

After 24 years of service she retired as a Statistical Assistant from the Bureau of the Census.  She made a lifelong friend (sister) Victoria Sarver of Louisville, Ky.

She loved her husband, children, extended family and friends and dedicated her life to ensuring they were surrounded by her love for them. She was the #1 fan of the unofficial fan club for the band Valhalla that her son Richard was a member of.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday September 5, 2019 at 10:30 A.M at Dillman – Green Funeral Home in Marengo. Visitation will be held on Wednesday September 4, 2019 from 4:00 P.M until 8:00 P.M and again on Thursday from 9:00 A.M until the time of service. Burial will follow at Union Chapel Cemetery in Milltown.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Union Chapel Cemetery Fund C/O Susan Engleman 7059 Corydon Ridge Rd. NE Lanesville, IN. 47136 for upkeep of the cemetery.
