Othella M. Armstrong, 85, of Sulphur, Indiana passed away peacefully on Monday September 21, 2026, at Harrison Healthcare Center in Corydon, Indiana.

She was born on March 9, 1941, in Perry County, Indiana to William Lion Sturgeon and Sara Sirilda (Eckart) Jeffers. Othella was a woman of Christian Faith who cherished the simple joys of life. She loved to garden and grow flowers. Othella loved farming and the life that came with it. She devoted herself to being a homemaker and caring for her family. Othella was a wonderful cook and known for making homemade bread. Her faith, loving nature, and the care she poured into her home and family will be remembered by all that knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, James Edwin Armstrong Sr., her second husband, James Elmer House, and 5 deceased brothers, Henry, Jim, Gerald, Bob, and Lawrence Sturgeon.

Othella is survived by her children, step- daughter, Debbie (Joe) Urbani, James Jr. (Debbie) Armstrong, Mary Ridge, Thomas Armstrong, Carl (Valerie) Armstrong, Paul Armstrong, Angie Armstrong (Jim Harris), 13 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, and one brother, Harold Sturgeon.

Direct cremation was chosen according to her wishes. A private burial will be held. She will be laid to rest at Old Union Cemetery in Sulphur.
