Ralph "Jake" Hanger, age 98, passed away on June 20, 2018 at the Harrison County Hospital in Corydon, IN.

Ralph was born to Earl and Emma (Green) Hanger on March 23, 1920 in Depauw, IN.

Preceding Ralph in death are his parents, wives Vivian (McMahel) Hanger and Rita (Johnson) Hanger and siblings Helen Pitman, Dorothy Seacat.

Surviving are children Steve (Lou Ann) Hanger, Jerry (Laura) Hanger, Jayne (Lonnie) Presley, Step-children Karen (Mark) Gomez, Doug (Cheryl) Johnson, 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 1 step grandchild.
Ralph was a lifelong educator, he was a teacher, principle, superintendent, and coach in the Crawford County School Corporation. He was a long time member of the Marengo American Legion Post 84, and held the office of treasurer for many years, he was also a member of the Retired Teachers Association. Ralph was the original owner of Hanger Painting, he was a longtime member and Elder of the Marengo Christian Church. He also held the office of clerk and treasurer for the Town of Marengo for many years. Ralph was a Veteran of the US Army Air Force and served in the Aleutian Islands and in Alaska.

Funeral service will be Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Marengo Christian Church.

Visitation will be Friday, June 22, 2018 from 2:00 to 8:00 pm at the Marengo Christian Church and on Saturday from 9:00 am until service time at 11:00 am.

Officiating the funeral service will be Bro. Mike Gillespie with burial to follow at the Marengo Cemetery, Marengo, IN.
