RALPH SIMS SR., of Taswell, IN passed away on Monday, March 30, 2015 at the age of 76 years. Ralph is originally from Crandall, IN. Shortly after graduating from North Central High School in 1958, he moved to Florida and had a successful career including owning his own business and in non-traditional fashion moved back to Indiana to (semi) retire. During his retirement back home in Indiana, Ralph is a 22 year employee of H&R Block in Corydon; where he said he worked for the best boss he ever had.
Never one to sit around Ralph also had his own tax and accounting business and several volunteer positions. Ralph is very active in the New Albany Elks as has served as an officer for many years.
Ralph is preceded in death by his mother Dortha Sims, his father Lawrence Sims, and Sister Ethel Felderman and other friends and family.
Ralph's family is comforted in knowing they will be reunited with him one day including his best friend and wife of 56 years Thelma (Thomas) Sims, and three children, Ramona Malloni (Joe), Teresa Holbrook (Ken), Ralph Sims Jr.
Grandchildren: Philip, Jacqueline, Patrick, Justin, Russell, Kayla, Alex, Amanda, Peter, Kerry, Elizabeth, Steven and Angela.
Great Grandchildren: Arianna, Mary, Alexa, Chloe, Otto, Chandler, Caroline, Shayla and Aaliyah with his Elks Family. Family has always been Ralph's top priority, and he has often said "I have done a lot of things and had a lot of success, but the thing I am most proud of is my family." He is a man of many friends and will be sorely missed by all.
A Celebration of Life will be Thursday, April 2, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Tunnel Hill Free Methodist Church in Taswell, IN. Visitation prior to service will be at 11:00 am to 1:00 service time.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 1, from 5:00 pm till 8:00 pm at Denbo Funeral Home, English, IN.
Final resting place will be Taswell Cemetery alongside his sister Ethel and best friend, Bobby.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations in Ralph's memory to "Cloth-A-Child" and Elks charity that is near and dear to Ralph's heart.
