Robert O. Oxley, age 94, of Taswell, IN died on September 26, 2015 at Scenic Hills Nursing Home in Ferdinand, IN.
He was born on September 10, 1921 to the Late Tom and Lena (Holzbog) Oxley. He married Evelyn Brubeck on January 10, 1942.
Surviving is son Donald (Martha) Oxley of Huntingburg, IN, brother Sam (Joan) Oxley of Jasper, daughter-in-law Beverly Oxley, 2 sisters Mae Atkins and Ruth Lohn of Birdseye, 3 three grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn Oxley, she passed August 30, 1994, son Dennie Oxley and brothers Everett and Thurman Oxley.
Robert was a World War II Veteran serving in the Army, he served in the Philippines. He is a member of the VFW, Post 6160 in English, IN and American Legion Post 332 of Milltown, IN. Robert was also a member of Local 181 Operators Union, Evansville, IN.
Service will be held at Highfill Chapel Church in Taswell, IN on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at 1:00 pm. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 29 from 10:00 am until service time. John Bye will be officiating.
Burial will follow at The Highfill Cemetery, Taswell, IN.
