Obituary

Ronald G. Ramsey, age 84, of Milltown, IN passed away at his home on February 23, 2019.

He was born on July 17, 1934 to Russell L. Ramsey and Eithel F. Ramsey-Doeden of Tecumseh, Nebraska.

He was raised on a farm located near his great-grandparents homestead, which they claimed in 1866.  He graduated from Tecumseh High School, where he received All Conference Awards in football and basketball.  He attended both the University of Nebraska and the University of Wyoming on football scholarships, and earned his bachelor's degree in Business from the University of Wyoming.

After college, Ron started drilling and production operations in the Wyoming oil fields for Pan American.  He then moved to Montana to work as a construction representative for Anaconda Aluminum, and subsequently shifted to the finance department and transferred to Louisville, KY.  Eventually, Ron decided that he was better suited to the life of a farmer, and worked the land in Leavenworth, IN.

He attended the Leavenworth Presbyterian Church and was a past member of the First Baptist Church of Tecumseh, NE.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents and siblings James Ramsey and Betty Evans.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years Patricia Ramsey, daughters Robyn (Bob) Cantin of Olathe, KS, Nancy (Alan) Grant of Marengo, IN, Janet (Chris) Scherzer of Louisville, KY, & Jerri (Dave) Hawkins of English, IN, siblings Harland (Dianne) Ramsey of Rathdrum, ID, & Carol Waring of Tecumseh, NE, grandchildren Matthew & Paul Cantin of Olathe, KS, Bobbie (Neil) Stroud of Georgetown, IN, & Jessica (Brandon) Banks of Louisville, KY, and great-grandchildren Hagan & Brody Stroud of Georgetown, IN, and Simon & Lillian Banks of Louisville, KY.

Visitation will be at the Dillman-Green Funeral Home (Marengo, IN) on Tuesday, February 26 from 3:00pm until 7:00pm and on Wednesday, February 27 from 11:00am until service time.  Funeral service will be Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at 1:00pm.
