Ruth Newton, 90, of West Fork, IN died April 20, 2016 at the Todd Dickey Nursing Home in Leavenworth, IN after a long illness. She was born August 25, 1925 to Vollie and Gladys Felker Belcher near Mifflin, IN.
In September of 1943 she married Cecil Newton who preceded her in death.
She was the mother of 4 sons; Ralph (Kathy) Newton, Roger Newton and Charles Newton of English, and Marcus (Vickie) Newton of West Fork, IN. and one daughter Martha (David) East of Scottsburg, IN.
6 grandchildren, Sidney Newton, Casey Newton, Tyler Newton, Valerie Newton Nees, Dennis East and Monica East, and 7 Great-Grandchildren.
She has 3 brothers; Bob (Anna) Belcher of Brooksville, FL, Chester (Shirley) Belcher of Evansville, IN, Leon (Marilyn) of Greenwood, IN and one sister, Maxine (Dwight) King of Seymour, IN and one sister-in-law Frances Belcher.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Kevin and a brother Paul Belcher. She was a member of Pleasant Ridge Church near Mifflin, IN. As a lifelong resident of Crawford County, she leaves behind many friends and relatives.
Visitation will be held on Friday April 22, 2016 at Denbo Funeral Home from 4-8. A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday at 1:00 pm with visitation prior to the service from 10-1 at Denbo Funeral Home with Bro. Albert Madden officiating.
