Obituary

Stanton "Stan" L. Deig, 71, of English, Indiana formerly of Evansville, Indiana passed away on Saturday July 13, 2024, at his residence surrounded by his family.

He was born on February 12, 1953, in Evansville, Indiana to Marion G. and Iona M. (Fehrenbacher) Deig.

Stan married Vicky (Crow) Deig on May 26, 2001, and she survives. He was strong in his faith and active in church attending Howell General Baptist Church in Evansville, Indiana and currently attending Hillview Christian Church in Marengo, Indiana. Stan was a friend to many and always ready to lend a helping hand.

He was a lifelong Electrician with IBEW Local 16 for over 37 years. Stan also worked at Country Mark Co-op in Mount Vernon for around 14 years.  He enjoyed traveling and taking vacations with his wife Vicky. Stan liked spending time outside, working around the house. He spent time woodworking, being with his family, and watching his grandchildren and great- grandchildren grow. Stan liked to watch Western movies and take care of his animals, his dog Opie, and his cats Martini and Alannah. He was deeply loved and will be missed by many.

Stan was preceded in death by his parents, Marion G. Iona M. Deig, and his grandchild, Faith August Deig.

Left to mourn his passing, his wife and companion for over 30 years, Vicky Deig, his children, Whitney (Josh) Pry, Clinton Deig, his step-children, David Bennett, Tiffany (Dave) Shelly, Latisha McGill, Forrest Smith II, grandchildren, Korey, Mazz, Victoria "Tori" (Brady), Forrest III, Trenten, Gracelyn, Alton, Taylor, great- grandchildren, Briella "Ellie", Kynlee Sue, Lillian "Lilly", Samuel "Sammy", his siblings, Donna Crow, Sharon Harbison, Becky (Dick) Martin, Pam Deig, Rick (Dee) Deig, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Cremation was chosen according to Stan's wishes. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at 2:00 PM with a service at 3:00 PM EST at Hillview Christian Church 4180 E SR-64 Marengo, Indiana 47140 with Bro. Paul Walerczak and Bro. Bruce Hawkins to officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Humane Society in memory of Stan.

The family would like to thank everyone who helped care for Stan, including Heart to Heart Hospice, Memorial Hospital and Healthcare and Lange-Fuhs Cancer Center in Jasper, Indiana,  Trena and  Tyra Brown.
